When you live in an apartment, we understand that it can feel tricky to fit everything that you need into your new home. This is why we have created this list with 6 tips and tricks for you to try to help utilize your space here at Solis Giroux without having to sacrifice style!
1. ELIMINATE CLUTTER
The easiest space-saving trick is to declutter – OFTEN! The fewer items you have, the larger your home will feel.
A great way to do this is by keeping those items that you do not need in the living quarters in storage. Here at Solis, our tenants often use the ensuite storage that is available in most 2 bedroom units or rent out our available storage lockers so that they have less clutter and more living space.
2. KEEP FURNITURE AGAINST THE WALL
You want to keep as much floor space as you can. When you arrange furniture against the wall, it keeps it from becoming roadblocks and leaves more room for activities.
3. SEMI-OPEN FURNITURE
Things like bookshelves, dressers, nightstands, really any pieces that are partially open. This helps to create expansiveness in your home while also giving you optimal storage!
4. MIRRORS
Mirrors are an amazing way to create the illusion of a taller and wider apartment. Reflective surfaces really work to broaden your space!
5. PICK FURNITURE THAT POPS
Whether that’s a retro couch, bold bedspread, big plants, a fun light fixture or print – having a few statement pieces in your space can really add some spice to your home without making it overwhelming!
6. STORAGE FURNITURE
Versatility is key. Like bed frames with built-in storage below or using trunks for coffee tables, choose furniture that also works as storage to utilize space.
