This is not a drill – Versailles Park is now open and ready for play in Ville Giroux, and is located just steps away from us here at Solis Giroux.
The park is located near Fire Station No.3, which is why the City of St. Albert wanted to take the opportunity to honour local firefighters as fully integrated members of the community. You can see this through the Maltese crosses, the fire truck play structure, and the multiple Fire Station No. 3 references. It’s an awesome space for children to light-up their imaginations in the new firefighter-themed space as heroic make-believe members of the community.
The playground has two main play structures, one four-bay swing set, multiple small play features (including an ambulance spring toy), barrier-free rubber surfacing and transfer stations for those with mobility challenges, a Splash pad for the summer and a sledding hill, an amphitheatre-style open green-space sunken below the surrounding trail, and a trail system that connects directly to Lacombe Lake Park – which is just minutes away from us here at Solis Giroux.
It has a lot of fun stuff, we know. And all of us here at Solis Giroux are so excited for this new neighbourhood gem to finally be open in the St. Albert community!
